Copyright, Plagiarism & Fair Use

Copyright is the exclusive right to make copies, license, and otherwise exploit a literary, musical, or artistic work, whether printed, audio, video, etc.: Copyright works granted on or after January 1, 1978, are protected for the lifetime of the author or creator and for a period of 70 years after his or her death by law. 

Plagiarism is an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author. 

Fair Use is a reasonable and limited use of copyrighted material so as not to infringe upon copyright
